Sample Interview Questions

Taking the time to prepare for an interview is an important goal for anybody involved in the job hunt/career change process, and practicing your responses to those all important questions is a key element of the process. But how do you know specifically what you will be asked? Below you will find some of the most commonly asked questions in an interview. 

Tell me about your role at Company X, responsibilities, customer base, products.

What motivates you?

Describe a challenging work issue you had to face, and how you dealt with it?

How do you handle conflict? Give me an example.

In what way do you think you can contribute to our company?

Tell me about a time when you tried and failed, tell me about a time when you succeeded.

Tell us about your analytical skills, and how you used them in a real job situation.

What are some of the things you find difficult to do?

What are your short and long term goals?

Give me the definition of an ( ie.sales representative) at Company X.

What does "customer service" mean to you?

What do you wish to gain from our company?

What do you know about our company?

What do you think the employee's responsibilities are to a company?

What attributes make a good team member?

Why do you want to change jobs?

How would you deal with a member of the support staff that has made an error with one of your major customers?

What are the attributes of a good manager? What type of manager would you work best under?
